 HIS POWER

God the Father came to earth to do His job, which was to create the world and everything that is in it. That being finished, He sent God the Son (Jesus) to earth to do His job, which was to teach, die and be resurrected for the redemption of mankind. That being finished, He (Jesus) now sits at the right hand of the Father. BOTH are now in Heaven. They have both finished their work but there is more to do. So now it is time for God the Holy Spirit to do His work.

The job of the Holy Spirit is to draw men to Jesus Christ. He will keep doing His job until the return of Christ.

Now, when the Holy Spirit, who is the POWER of the Trinity, leaves this earth, He takes us with Him in a great event, which we call the RAPTURE. HE WILL BE THE POWER that defies gravity to raise us at that time to meet the Lord in the air. 

(I am going to take you a little deeper into this great event so you can understand just how great His POWER really is.) 

1st Thessalonians 4:13/18     We are going to pay very close attention to the verses 16&17.

For the Lord Himself, shall descend from Heaven with a SHOUT, with the VOICE of the Arch Angel and with the TRUMP of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are ALIVE and REMAIN (are still in these bodies) shall be CAUGHT UP together with THEM (the ones who came out of the graves) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord!

 [Before going on with the lesson, I want to insert a little something here]

 Matthew 7:7/11

Ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.

For everyone that asks shall receive, he that seeks shall find, and to him that knocks it shall be     opened.

Which one of you would give your child a stone if he asks for bread or would you give him a serpent if he asks for a fish?

So if you being evil (born into sin) give your children the things they ask for, how much more is your Heavenly Father likely to give you what you ask for?

This is the scripture I always use when I am teaching on divine things.

So you won’t think I am way out in left field with this, I always ask the Father and the Holy Spirit to make things very plain to me as I am writing about Them. The Holy Spirit (the TEACHER) opened this up to me in a way that had never crossed my mind. I could feel Him very near me as I began to listen to Him. He showed me things that I had never heard anywhere else in my whole life! The Word came alive as never before. If we are going to work with the Holy Spirit as a companion and friend, He wants us to know more about Him and His work. As friends and companions talk to each other, so also will the Holy Spirit talk and listen to you.

The Rapture is not going to be a quiet thing as we have been led to believe. (Like a thief in the night)…This simply means He is going to come when you least expect Him, so be prepared!

EVERYBODY ON EARTH IS GOING TO KNOW ABOUT IT WHEN IT HAPPENS!!  Why do I say this? Let’s check the scripture.

The Lord shall descend from Heaven with a SHOUT.

Jesus, as our Redeemer, is going to come from the 3rd Heaven down to the 1st Heaven and He is going to come down SHOUTING (not sneaking in for a quick getaway.) He wants Satan (with his big army in the 2nd heaven) to know that it will only take 3 of them to bring us home!

With the VOICE of the arch angel

This is Gabriel (the one who brings good news) calling us forth and this VOICE is going to be very loud.    

Revelation 6:1…Rev. 10:3…Rev. 14:15 

With the TRUMP of God (the dead in Christ shall rise first)

   This is Not a Trumpet.

    This is a TRUMP or TRUMPETER

Webster**TRUMP…noun…A Person of great excellence

                  TRUMPETER…verb…one who proclaims or announces

                                              Something LOUDLY OR WILDLY.

THIS TRUMP IS THE HOLY SPIRIT.

There should be no division in this sentence. The Bible had no commas or verses when it was written. It should read as one thought.

WITH THE TRUMP (the Holy Spirit) THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST AND WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN (are still living in our bodies) SHALL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS TO MEET JESUS AND BE WITH HIM FOREVER!!

The Holy Spirit is the POWER that gets us off the ground and out of the graves.

Now we begin to see that first and foremost He is the POWER…The MOVER and SHAKER of the Trinity. 

I am going to try and show you how they have the same CHARACTER but their jobs are different and still they work together to complete them.

 

Genesis…first chapter

THE HOLY SPIRIT…ANIMATOR OR POWER…gave the world (creation) life or in other words made the creation a LIVING THING.

A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HIS JOB

Let’s begin by first seeing what the job of the Holy Spirit is in the believers’ life.

   He was first sent as a COMFORTER or in Hebrew a HELPER.

1)   COMFORTER…To comfort the disciples after His death and His

                                  Resurrection.

2)   HELPER…one who aids or assists you

3)   HE IS YOUR PRAYER PARTNER…Romans 8:26,27

4)   He is the TEACHER OF SCRIPTURES…1st Corth. 2:12/13

5)   He is the POWER in your life

          Luke 24:49…Acts 1:1/8…Just is case you think you don’t need the Holy Spirit go to verse 14. Jesus Mother thought that she did!!

The Holy Spirit is for everyone…. Acts 2:38,39

If you do not have the infilling of the Holy Spirit you should be actively seeking it. This is where you get your power with God.

The first we see of this is with Peter. He was probably more like us than any disciple Jesus had. He’d get peeved and go off by himself. I can just hear him mumbling to himself, “let’s just see how they get along without me now,” and he would take off fishing. You know what? They got along just fine! Jesus would tell him something and he would sass Jesus and act like he knew more than Jesus did. You’ll find this all through the four gospels. Jesus even called him Satan one time in Matthew 16:22,23.
