V.  DEMON OPPRESSION

(1)     Demon Oppression

(a)    Oppression…To press down upon, to cause to sink

         The exercise of power in a cruel or Unjust manner. (Persecution)

Demons will usually oppress to see if they can possess  [1^st Peter 5:8,9] 

There were more people in the Word who were oppressed by satan but we are
only going to look at two of them, one from the Old Testament and one from
the New Testament:

[Job 1:6/12]       Job’s First Oppression….His Possessions

[Job 2:1/7]         Job’s Second Oppression…His health….Boils

[Job 2:9,10]       Job’s Third Oppression…His Christianity (satan gets help from
                        His wife when she tells Job to curse God and die!

 [Acts 9:8,9]      Paul’s First Oppression….His health…Blindness

[Acts 16:19/24]  Paul’s Second Oppression….His freedom…beaten and imprisoned

[2^nd Corinthians 12:7]  Paul’s Third Oppression….His peace…Thorn in the flesh;
An evil spirit sent to buffet him  (Buffet: To contend against; to battle with;
to struggle or fight.

I don’t know what this demon spirit was, as it does not say, but I would think it was the
thing that Paul had the most trouble with in overcoming.  [Hebrews 12:1]
We all have our faults as I am sure Paul did.

[Hebrews 2:14,15]  The Bible also calls oppression…Bondage And calls Possession…Captivity

[John 10:7,8]

Jesus calls them both thieves and robbers! The reasons being that they steal our peace and
sometimes our sanity and also robs us of everything Jesus came to give us like life more abundantly.

[1^st John 3:8]

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and …John 10:10...tells us what these
works are.  STEALING, KILLING, DESTROYING... So if you say all these things plus
sickness, poverty, bad luck or anything comes from God you are very wrong. 
He did not come to destroy lives but to save and enrich them! 

Demons will start to oppress in many ways.

(1)     [Genesis 3:1/5]……They will start with lies….tell you that God didn’t really
 mean what you thought He did.

(2)     [Genesis 4:3/5]……Will make you think second-best is good enough

(3)     [Matt. 4:1/10]…..Misinterprets the Word of God

(4)     They will cause you to lose possessions…loss of job….money won’t stretch…
burn your house…cause you to go bankrupt and will tell you that you
don’t have enough money to pay your tithes and therefore keep you in poverty.

(5)     They cause you to have health problems and then make you wonder why you
are not healed.  The reason you are not healed is because they make
you wonder why.  (DOUBT)

 [Acts 10:38]

You were healed 2000 years ago when Christ was crucified.
He paid your whole debt then.  Don’t ask why you are not healed…
just say I am healed!  That really makes satan and all his little minions mad. 

Demons can also cause….stress…heart attacks…ulcers…depression…fear…
anxiety…panic…hives…Anger…cancer…headaches…abuse and many more things. 

Just remember the name of Jesus is the most powerful.
