II. ARCH-ANGELS……..NAMES AND JOBS
Some of the Arch-Angels we know by name.
(1)
Gabriel…..means Man of God.
He is always
sent to bring good news or to bring divine
messages to man from God.
He ranks very high as he stands in the Presence of God continually.
[Luke 1:7/11 & 19/20 & 26/31]
This was at the births of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ.
[Daniel 8:15/19] [1st Thessalonians 4:16…The Rapture]
(2) Michael……means Who is like God
He is the Chief Warring Angel. He is like our
president who is Commander in Chief of the
military and like our President he can call up the forces whenever he needs to.
[This is the guy you have God to send if your prayers are not getting answered!]
He came to help Gabriel bring an answer to Daniel’s prayer
[Daniel 10:5/13]
I have never heard (or read) where the demon
forces could keep your prayers from getting to
God because they are taken straight to Him from the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.
But the demons can fight and hinder the angel who is bringing the answer as they did with Daniel.
WHY? Because they are all angels, some good and some bad.
Michael also argued with satan about the body of
Moses in [Jude 9] and said
“The Lord rebuke you”. Now why would Michael, a high ranking angel say this to
satan?
[Deuteronomy 34:5,6] God, Himself, buried Moses!
Michael will also come to the defense of Israel during the Great Tribulation. [Dan.12:1] [Rev. 12:7,8]
THE APOCRYPHA….Taken from the Macabees…..mentions two more Arch-Angels.
(1) Uriel…means Light of God

Raphael….I don’t know what this name means
but by breaking it down,
Rapha …means Healer….El means Mighty
It makes me wonder if this is the angel that brings healing, miracles and all divine health to God’s people!
