[Judges 6:22,23,24]
[Judges 6]…..This is the story of Gideon
It also shows us how God will use the very least of us if we obey Him. [1st Corinthians1: 25 thro’ 31]
It is also a lesson on how we try to get out of what God wants us to do.
First we argue about how unworthy we are and make all kinds of excuses.
[Judges 6: 36 thro’40]
Then we try to make God prove to us that it is really Him talking!
Adam
had peace at the beginning. He had anything he wanted to eat, all the animals
were
tame and he had a wife. He
lived in Perfect Peace.
[Genesis 3: 3&6]
Adam made the wrong choice. He sinned…No peace…Grew afraid in verse 10.
At first Adam loved God with his whole heart and his whole being.
Now
he begins to lose that Perfect love and it turns into fear because he disobeyed
and the fear leads to torment.
TORMENT…(from the College dictionary)
To be afflicted with great mental suffering and pain; To be in misery and agony
So here Adam has gone from Perfect Peace to absolute fear and torment.
As the Lord is “ JEHOVAH SHALOM” our Peace, He has to do something to bring Adam Peace.
[Genesis 3:21]
First Sacrifice….Covering for sin….Peace again
This
is a type of what God would eventually bring into the worship of the
Temple….killing sheep
and bulls as a
Blood Sacrifice or Covering for the sins of
His people, Israel, until He gave the
ultimate Blood Sacrifice of His Son Jesus.
This would not be a Covering , but a Remission of sins!
If we
accept Him as our Blood Sacrifice for the Remission (the doing away with) of our
sins,
we can
claim the scripture in [Isaiah 26:3] which states:
Thou will keep him in Perfect Peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusteth in Thee!
SHALOM…or PEACE…was brought to this generation by the Crucifixion.
Isaiah (in the 53rd chapter] is prophesying…Telling forth the future
of what would happen at the
Crucifixion.
How did the Cross accomplish our Peace?
Seven (God’s Perfect Number) things JEHOVAH SHALOM did to insure our Peace.
|
He bore our griefs |
Sickness, weakness, distress
|
He carried our sorrows |
Weighed down by our feelings of sorrow but we thought
His troubles were a punishment from God for His sins! [Hebrews 4:15]
|
Wounded for our transgressions (our sins) |
Nails in His hands and feet
Spear in His side
Thorns on His head
|
Bruised for our iniquities (our evil works) |
Beaten with a stick….[Matthew 27:29,30,31]
|
Chastised for our Peace |
Punished by being mocked, made fun of, lied about, called a bastard, outcast,
beard pulled
out and lost most of His friends.
Everything we would
possibly have to go through, He went through, so He would know how we
would be
tempted and also if we could take it all and not sin. (remember He was MAN at
this time)
He was human like us.
That’s why He could promise us in [1st Corinthians 10:13]
There
has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful
and will
not let you be tempted above what you can stand but WITH the temptation
make a way to escape.
So you can bear it.

Beaten for our Healing |
He was beaten with a
cat-o-nine tails…His back was cut to the bone. These stripes were
made on a body
of flesh
and this means our bodies are to be made whole from whatever
disease or
sickness we may have.
It is the things we do,
the life we live, that keeps us from getting healed. Our biggest
obstacle that
keeps us from being
healed is we want to be healed but still keep the habits
that made us sick in the first place. Therefore we pray amiss
because we pray
for
the healing and not for the habit to be gone.
Whether it be mental,
physical or emotional, His stripes, His beating, healed us 2000
years ago….Past
Tense
Our life-style lost us our healing just as sin lost Adam his peace.
|
He died for our sins (was sacrificed) |
Past sins…Present sins….Future sins
He did not die Spiritually
He died Physically as a MAN
Just a little something thrown in…has nothing to do with the lesson.
Just something for you to chew on.
Not too long after the
death of Jesus they stopped burying people as soon as they died……
Wonder
why?…..
Let me know by email what you think and I will give you the answer!!!
Peace is the absence of fear. [Isaiah 54:14/17] [2nd Timothy 1:7] PEACE OF MIND
So then, if Peace is the
absence of fear then Peace of Mind is the ceasing of all mental
disturbances. [1st
Corinthians 14:33]
FOR GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR
OF CONFUSION BUT OF PEACE AS HE IS IN
ALL OF THE CHURCHES
OF THE SAINTS.
So you need not be afraid of confusion or mental disturbances.
Just call on JEHOVAH SHALOM and He will bring Peace.
How can we be sure of our Peace? [Psalms 119:89]
Forever, Oh LORD, Thy Word
is settled in Heaven…So, we go to the Word to see what it says.
[John
14:1/4…27,28]
Most of our fear in these
latter days come from not knowing for sure that we’re ready to go should
Jesus
come.
We’re not sure we’ve done all we could for Him.
We’re not sure that some
little something we’ve done or left undone will keep us grounded to
this earth
when the Rapture occurs.
I’m going to give you 7 scriptures that should bring you Peace….
Or let you know a little better the Person of JEHOVAH SHALOM.
(1) Colossians 2:19/26….Nailed to the Cross
(2) Romans 3:19/26….Not guilty
(3) Hebrews 1:2….Cleared your record…Purged or Erased
(4) Hebrews 8:10/13…Sins remembered no more.......Ps. 103:10/14
(5) Luke 15…..A type of God’s character
(6) Ephesians 1:2/14….Gospel of Peace
(7) John 3: 16/21…..Came not to condemn
Remember that as Christians we are supposed to be Christ-like.
So, as He is our JEHOVAH SHALOM…OUR GOD OF PEACE
Then we should be Peace-makers also.
Is your home in total chaos?
Is the man over-bearing?
Is the woman stubborn?
Are the kids rebellious?
It is time to make Peace rule the home.
It is time for JEHOVAH SHALOM
[Ephesians 5:20/33]
This tells husband and wife how to treat each other.
(20) WE ARE TO PUT GOD FIRST IN EVERYTHING
(21) Submit to each other….in other words….discuss things
(22) The husband has the
last word or decision in things unless
it goes against
God’s Word.
(23) The husband is the protector and supplier of home
(24) The wife is subject to the husband, cheerful and faithful
(25) The husband is to love his wife enough to give his life for her
(26&27) Speaks of Christ and the church
(28) Men should love their
wives as much as they love their own bodies.
If you
don’t harm your body then don’t harm your wife
(29) Feed and care for your wife as Christ does the church
(30) We are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
(31) We are to leave our
parents and be joined to each other and
become one with
each other.
(32) We are to love each other as Christ loves the church
(33) The husband is to
love his wife as much as he loves himself and the wife
is
to love and esteem her husband. To hold
him in high regard
[Ephesians 6:1,2,3] Tells children how to behave so they will have a long life
The book of Proverbs is excellent teaching on how to raise children.
[Eph 6:4] Tells parents how to treat their children
Above all we should try to keep Peace in our homes
This is a great way to
show people how a Christian should act and also a great witness
to the
unbeliever
May God Bless you and your
home is my prayer. May He give you knowledge and wisdom,
not only to read
these studies but also to apply them in your daily life.
These are only words that need to be given action to work!
