Moses has just brought the Israelites people through the Red Sea and into the wilderness. As usual they begin to grumble to Moses that there is no water. After three days they came to the river Mar-ah but could not drink of it because the water was bitter. Then the Lord shows Moses a tree to cast into the waters. When he did this the waters were made sweet and fit for drinking.
There at Mariah Moses made for them a law and tested them.
[Verse 26]
That law was if they would diligently listen to the voice of the Lord their God and do what was right in His sight, and listen to His commandments and keep all His laws, God would not send any of the diseases to plague them that He had sent on the Egyptians for
I AM THE LORD THAT HEALETH THEE!
The bitter water is our trials in life and the tree is the cross.
In other words, no matter what comes our way we can have victory through the cross.
[Isaiah 53] Tells us what the cross accomplished. (make sure you read this)
[Luke 13:16] Jesus calls sickness bondage by Satan, slavery to infirmity and captivity.
[Acts 10:38] He calls sickness an oppression of the devil.
[John 5:30] states He seeks not His own will but the will of His Father who sent Him.
So then we need to find out what the Father’s will is for us today.
The only way to do that is get into the Word and see what it says!
My Bible tells me more than once that it is the Father’s will that I be healed and walk in Divine health. The cross provided that for me so when I am sick I call on Jehovah RAPHA for my healing.
Jesus has already said that sickness comes from the devil.
(Jesus cannot give you what He does not have and He does not have sickness.)
[1st John 3:8]
He that commiteth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son Of God was revealed (shown),
THAT HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL!
So what did God send His Son to do…Destroy the works of Satan.
That leaves us one thing to find out
What are the works of the devil?
[John 10:10]
The thief (satan) cometh not but for to and to kill and to destroy.
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly!
Then that tells me that God does not want me sick but walking in divine health.
So how do we go about getting divine health?
Matthew 10: 7& 8
Jesus is speaking and giving us our mission here on earth. If we, as Christians, do not do this we are not following the will of God!
“As you go, preach, (teach, prophesy, tell, etc.) saying, The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand.
HEAL THE SICK, CLEANSE THE LEPERS, RAISE THE DEAD, CAST OUT DEVILS:
Freely you have received, Freely give.
